Phoenixdex Home

The Phoenixdex is a collection of all the fake Pokémon and related projects I've created, complete with anal-retentive detailed statistical information for your viewing pleasure. You can read more about the project here; if you want to contact me about something, my contact details are on this page. Enjoy your visit, don't take anything that doesn't belong to you and check back often to see what's new!

School's starting to wind down, so...

...that means that I should hopefully have more time to get stuff done around here! Just three more weeks (and some projects and essays and crap) and then I'm off for a while, whoohoo. It'll be a little while before I add any new Pokémon or get the gym leader et al. pages done, but in the meantime I've finally gotten off my lazy butt and actually finished the location data for all of the currently visible New Logoran Pokémon (and those that aren't visible, but, well, you can't see their pages so it doesn't matter!) So yes, if you were curious: Dustley and Auriole are unsurprisingly common, Latikrai has inadvertently become New Logora's Tentacool and you're going to have to spend a heck of a long time scouring Route 607 if you want half a chance of finding a Josuche. (I will point out that I think I've avoided creating a "New Logoran Zubat", though, if that's any consolation!)

None of the Faelani Pokémon have locations right now, unfortunately; I still don't have the entire region designed, so technically there can't be any locations. There are also a few New Logoran Pokémon that have their location table filled in but still need more information--Cubly and Derfin, for example, both of which need to be (almost) as annoying to find as Feebas and so would require some additional condition be met before you could encounter them. And I don't yet know what that condition is. :/ Eh, I'll figure it out.

Small update overall, then, even if it did take all day (and a lot of time I should've been using for other things) to sort out on my end. Bigger stuff is on the horizon, though! I've got a listing of relevant New Logoran characters in the works, and there are several Pokémon I have complete data for and just need to draw already. Hang in there--I expect to make some serious headway over my upcoming break!

Sprites

Back in school, bleagh. Progress will slow to even more of a crawl until I adjust to my awkward schedule.

In the meantime, however, I've finally gotten around to uploading some of the lovely fansprites people were kind enough to make for me for one reason or another. The majority were created by a far-too-generous friend of mine, Purplemew12, but there are a few others by some kind folks named blazheirio889, Alraunne, Whivit and ShiningSuicune as well. Check the "Anything Else" tabs of Acafia, Aculago, Bucarat, Burungin, Crocoal, Cubly, Derfin, Dustley, Feucrota, Gowatu, Kelfee, Kizziff, Klaitning, Lamlie, Latikrai, Mortarat, Ramfere, Torranel, Transmite, Vaering, Ventorm and Wyrmal if you'd like to see.

Rat infestation

Another small update today. Meet Bucarat and Mortarat, the two Filth Rat Pokémon. Mortarat in particular is pretty handy as Poison-types go, so it might be worth a look for a beginning trainer. As long as said beginning trainer can avoid catching the plague, anyway.

Welcome to Faelan!

Whoa, check that out! There's like, a whole region there on the sidebar that wasn't there yesterday! Where'd that come from?

Where indeed, heh. Faelan, the second EOC region with which I'd like you to become acquainted, finally has just enough information for me to open its pages up to the public. It comes complete with embarrassing background information and, more importantly (at least, I hope you think it's more important), a first look at the Faelani regional 'dex. It's smaller overall than New Logora's and is much further from completion--I know just about all of NL's Pokémon and simply need to finish their designs and 'dex info, where as most of Faelan's Pokémon are currently little more than "figure out how to use this general animal concept and make it this type okay bye"--but you can start off by checking out the starters, Tulisard, Telerond and Finolt, and their evolutions. Just a few Pokémon found further down the 'dex list are there, too, like Maaphix, the cuddly sphinx cub, and Zantyroi, Faelan's resident Captain Sexytime; there are even some familiar older faces with more of those "mysterious friends" (hey, what's that thing that comes right after Hypno...?). There's no shoddily slapped-together map of Faelan yet, mostly because I don't even know much about what the region looks like, but I'll add one whenever I manage to finalize it.

I'll still be working on New Logora (as well as the other stuff you haven't seen yet) simultaneously, of course. No rest for the weary fakemon nerd. To prove it, I've also updated the New Logoran pokédex with two new Pokémon. If you like Smart Contests then you might be interested in catching an Encanoto. Of course, you probably won't be able to get your hands on one without having to hunt for and then tutor one of these... adorable... little fellows. Um.

But wait! That's not all! You observant folk probably noticed that there's a brand new section on the sidebar, "Guides and Articles". The fakemon creation articles I mentioned aren't finished yet, but that's where they'll go when they're ready. In the meantime, a new Fakemon Resources page is warming up the bench for them. It's a collection of links, tools, tutorials and the like that I find helpful when creating fakemon, as well as a few more generally useful things. I'll be adding to it as I think of more.

Well, that looks like a pretty decent-sized update to me. I have other things to attend to at the moment, but I shall return bearing even more gifts, which may or may not include more lusty goats and landmasses of dubious origin. Phoenix out!

Small update, big stuff to come

I had a lot of work to do in order to get the Phoenixdex up and ready for display, and a lot of it was done in a hurry at that, so I sort of burned myself out after the initial release. As such, there hasn't been much of anything new to show. The fakemon mood is slowly returning, however, so little by little (and at a much more reasonable pace) I'll be adding more and more. One of the things I've been working on is starting the pages for important characters in New Logora, like gym leaders and major NPCs--I can't do a lot of them without further tweaks to the plot, and I'm also trying to hold off on adding gym leaders/elites with Pokémon I haven't uploaded yet (there's currently only one leader whose team members are all already visible on the site), but I'm getting there.

While working on designs for these major characters, though, I realized that there was one I couldn't finish properly without completing the concept art for a specific Pokémon. After drawing the picture I figured I might as well go ahead and add it to the dex; you've all been waiting long enough for some sort of update, after all. So! I'd like to introduce you to Transmite, the Sensor Bat Pokémon! As for why Transmite is important to this particular character, well... you'll just have to wait and see, won't you? ;)

I've also updated the New Logoran regional dex page to include almost all of the canon Pokémon found in the region (there are a few lines that I'm considering replacing, so I'm holding off on those for now). You can now see a few familiar faces like Pachirisu, Parasect and Carvanha there, though they seem to have come with a few... mysterious friends, shall we say. Said "mysterious friends" were the reason I'd originally withheld their inclusion in the dex--I'd wanted to wait until they were finished--but now I think I'd rather have you all guess at what those "friends" might be instead of not knowing they exist at all.

I'll probably be adding a "coming soon" page at some point in the near future, while I'm at it, just for a few sneak peeks and spoilers if I have an interesting picture or bit of info that isn't quite ready for a full page yet. Might even try a few "silhouettes" of my own, heh.

Oh, and I've started piecing together two fakemon creation guides/articles as well. It'll still be a while before they're finished, but hopefully it won't take me as long to get them done as it took the EV training guide I wrote for the main website. >>;

So, uh, enjoy Transmite, and hopefully I should be back soon with more stuff!

Phoenix out!

The Phoenixdex is now open!

After... god, probably almost a year of working behind the scenes, hemming and hawing about how to handle this that and the other thing, and attempting to focus on actually completing what I already had available, the dcNET Phoenixdex is finally ready to open for public viewing. This has been a labor of love of mine for years, and since there are other people on the internet who enjoy looking at this sort of thing, I figured it wouldn't hurt to share.

This is still a huge work in progress, as I've got several fanregions and other projects going at once and none of them are quite finished yet. I'll be updating it whenever I come up with something new, so check back often.

Right now there's only one region on display here, New Logora; I've started filling in the pokédex and written up an introduction to that region, complete with almost-decent HGSS-style map I just recently learned how to make. Those of you who have seen my stuff on deviantART or another site might be familiar with some of the fakemon up here, while some of the others will be new. You might also notice that some of the fakes I've posted are not up here; they will be as soon as I can get the right information together.

Anyway. I hope you enjoy what I've got so far. If you've got any comments or whatever, feel free to shoot them my way--my details are on the contact page.

Phoenix out.
